Rakuten.com Shopping, one of the world's largest online retail marketplaces, offers product listings in a wide range of categories including Beauty, Books, Consumer Electronics, Toys, and more.

Description

Since its purchase and eventual rebranding as Rakuten.com Shopping in 2013, the e-commerce site formerly known as Buy.com has grown to become one of the largest online marketplaces in the world.

Supported categories

Guidelines and processes unique to the market

• When you upload a new condition UPC or ISBN for the first time, Rakuten.com Shopping permanently associates your SKU with that UPC or ISBN and only accepts that SKU for all future uploads of the product in New condition.
• An item must have a UPC or ISBN to list against the Rakuten.com Shopping catalog unless you have a configuration installed by Monsoon Support that maps one of your user data fields to a Rakuten.com Shopping SKU. If an item's UPC or ISBN doesn't match the catalog, the item's status moves to Upload Error.
• If an item doesn't have a UPC or ISBN but does have an ASIN, Monsoon Marketplace won't attempt to list the item and the item's status moves to Not Listed. When you later add a UPC or ISBN, your system uploads the item for listing.
• On your Event Viewer tab, a merchant SKU displays as "Reference number" while the Rakuten.com Shopping SKU (similar to an Amazon ASIN) displays as "SKU."
• The market automatically deletes a listing that's inactive for 30 days. Since Rakuten.com Shopping doesn't communicate to Monsoon Marketplace when it deletes a listing, your inventory can become out of sync with your market listings.You can synchronize your inventory with the deleted Rakuten.com listings by delisting then relisting the market.
• There are no fees for listing on Rakuten.com. Instead, you pay a per item commission plus a percentage of the total purchase price (item price including shipping).
• Rakuten.com Shopping allows you to publish your own shipping rates in all product categories.
• The market requires you to ship an order within two business days of receiving it.
• Similar to Amazon customer communication requirements, the market sends automatic shipping and cancellation emails to your buyers.
• To place your account on vacation, you need to email the Rakuten.com Merchant Support Team then send a second email when you're ready to reactivate.
