Setting up eBay

Before you enable the eBay US or eBay UK markets, you need to do the following:

  1. Register an eBay seller account.
  2. Set up a Premier or Business PayPal account so you can accept credit card payments from buyers.
  3. (Optional) Set up an eBay store or shop subscription.

Register an eBay seller account

To sell on eBay, your first step is to register a business seller account.

Important  If you subscribe to eBay's Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, make sure the eBay automation rule that automatically relists an item is not turned on. With the automation rule turned on, eBay automatically relists your inventory outside of Monsoon Marketplace, causing unsynchronized inventory and eBay duplicates. Set up a PayPal account

A Premier or Business PayPal account is required to manage your eBay orders.

Note  As you set up your PayPal account, it's very important to make sure that your primary PayPal email address matches your eBay seller account email address. If the email address doesn't match, Monsoon Marketplace will not be able to communicate with your PayPal account.

(Optional) Set up an eBay Shop or eBay Store subscription

After you register your eBay seller account, you can open an eBay Store on eBay US or an eBay Shop on eBay UK.

Each eBay Store or eBay Shop subscription level has its own eBay recommendations, requirements, and fees.

eBay US  With an eBay Store, you can personalize your store's appearance and display items in inventory categories you create.

Before opening an eBay Store, eBay requires that you have a seller account with a credit card on file and a Verified PayPal account.

Update   Following a change on eBay, an item that lists in your eBay Store automatically lists on eBay's main site, also referred to as Core, while an item that lists on Core automatically lists to your Store. All eBay listings through Monsoon Marketplace are fixed price Buy It Now.

eBay UK  With an eBay Shop, you can personalize your shop's appearance and display items in inventory categories you create.

Before opening an eBay Shop, eBay requires that you have a seller account with a credit card on file and a Verified PayPal account.

When you meet all of the requirements above, you are ready to enable eBay.
