You can create custom SKUs on the Inventory Receiving tab or through an inventory import file.
Monsoon Marketplace accepts SKUs up to 63 characters in length while most markets only accept shorter SKUs. If you have a SKU that is longer than a particular market allows, Monsoon Marketplace automatically creates a shorter version of the SKU to list on the market.
For example, Amazon US allows a SKU length of 40 characters. If a SKU is longer than that, Monsoon Marketplace creates a 40-character version of the SKU for Amazon US and adds a _sqz suffix. This process of creating a shorter SKU to represent the original SKU is called hashing.
You can use any of the following characters (considered valid by all markets and Monsoon Marketplace) to create a SKU:
