Setting Up Alibris

Before you enable Alibris, you need to complete the following prerequisites:

Sign up for an Alibris seller account.
Set up Alibris FTP accounts for inventory and order processing.
Remove your listings (for sellers who currently sell on Alibris).

Signing up for an Alibris seller account

The first step in listing your inventory on Alibris is to register a seller account.

To set up an account, go to the Alibris website.

Important Alibris seller account settings:

Do not set up pricing preferences on the Alibris market. Turning on pricing preferences creates pricing conflicts with Monsoon Marketplace and unexpected pricing behavior. If pricing preferences are turned on, you should contact Alibris Seller Services to turn them off.
When you set up account preferences on Alibris, select Standard-data upload and Product/package condition as your listing upload format.
If you use Monsoon Marketplace to sell on Amazon US, do not opt-in to the Amazon.com Seller Program. When you opt-in, Alibris purges all of your Amazon listings and replaces them with a copy of your current Alibris inventory. Setting up Alibris FTP accounts for inventory and order processing

Monsoon Marketplace and Alibris communicate using FTP, a standard method of transferring files. You can set up inventory and order FTP accounts by sending an email to Alibris Seller Services.

Example email:

I am preparing to sell on Alibris using Monsoon Marketplace and need FTP accounts for inventory and order processing.

Please use my Alibris seller account credentials as my FTP credentials and turn on EDI Lite to start automatic order feeds.

My account information is:

Seller ID:
Password:
Account email:
Company name:
Contact name:

Please send me a confirmation email when the FTP accounts are active and EDI Lite is turned on.

Removing your listings

If you currently sell on Alibris, you need to remove (purge) your listings before you enable the market. Choose one of the following steps:

If you want Monsoon Marketplace to remove existing listings at the time you enable Alibris, follow the steps in To enable the Alibris market for Monsoon Marketplace after you've signed up for an Alibris seller account and set up FTP accounts for inventory and order processing.
If you want to remove your own listings before you enable the market, you can use the Alibris upload system to delete your records. For instructions, see the Alibris website. Depending on the speed of the market, listing removal can take up to 24 hours.
