Amazon Ship by Region

Amazon Ship by Region—also known as Amazon Shipping Settings—allows you to set the shipping methods, transit times, and shipping rates for the countries and regions you want to ship to, and configure different shipping settings for different sets of SKUs.

In this version of Monsoon Marketplace, you can create, edit, and delete shipping templates, set the shipping rate for them, and assign shipping templates to inventory groups. Items will list to Amazon using the shipping template you assign, and will price using the shipping rate you specify in the shipping template.

Ship by Region is supported for Amazon US, CA, UK, DE, ES, FR, and IT accounts.

Overview

Shipping templates allow you to set and assign different shipping settings for a set of SKUs. Each shipping template contains the following shipping method options:

Free Economy (US Only)
Standard
Expedited
Two-Day Delivery
International Standard
International Expedited

You can get more information about Amazon.com’s US Ship by Region feature from their Shipping Settings and Regions page. For Amazon EU sellers, check the Shipping Templates page.

Shipping templates give you the ability to specify where you want to ship items and set the shipping methods and rates when shipping to those regions. For items that are heavier, you can set your shipping rate by weight. For items that have to travel farther, you can specify an accurate transit time needed for the package to arrive to that region. When a buyer makes a purchase, there’s no mystery about how long the item will take to get to them, or how much the shipping will cost. Your buyers will get their products on time and improve the likelihood that you'll get good seller feedback.

Opt in to the Amazon Ship by Region program

First, opt in to Amazon’s Ship by Region program:

Log in to your Amazon seller account.
Go to Settings > Shipping settings.
A Migrate Now button appears on the Shipping Settings page if you can opt in to Ship by Region.
Click Migrate Now and follow the instructions.

If you don’t have the option to opt in to Ship by Region, and you do not have the Shipping Templates option on Amazon, please contact Amazon Seller Central Support.

Creating, editing, and deleting shipping templates

You will need to create your shipping templates first on Amazon. For information about creating shipping templates on Amazon, see the Amazon Shipping Settings page.

Important: If you are a BMVD (Books, Music, Video, DVD) seller, you can assign shipping templates to SKUs. However, BMVD shipping rates are set by Amazon, so the shipping template rate you set will not affect the media shipping rates. With a shipping template you can set customized shipping transit times by region and select international countries to ship to. Beginning in Monsoon Marketplace version 4.45 BMVD sellers can use shipping templates to set their media shipping rates.

Banded shipping is not supported at this time.

When your shipping templates are set up on Amazon, create them in Monsoon Marketplace.

To create a shipping template in Monsoon Marketplace

Go to Settings > Amazon > Shipping Templates.
Click Add Template.

In the Add Shipping Template dialog, you can set the Amazon market, add a name, and specify the shipping rate that items will use when they price. The name and market of the shipping templates you create in Monsoon Marketplace must match the shipping templates in your Amazon seller account.

If the template offers Free Economy shipping, then select Items that list with this template will be priced using a free shipping rate.

If the template does not offer Free Economy shipping, then select Items that list with this template will be priced using a standard shipping rate of ... and enter the Standard shipping rate you specified in the Amazon shipping template.

To edit a shipping template

Go to Settings > Amazon > Shipping Templates.
Click the pencil icon for the shipping template you want to edit.

You can change the name and the pricing and shipping settings, but the market cannot be changed. You must delete and re-create the shipping template if the market is incorrect.

To delete a shipping template

Go to Settings > Amazon > Shipping Templates.
Click the trash can icon for the shipping template you want to delete.

Assigning shipping templates to inventory groups

After a shipping template has been created, it can be assigned to different groups of inventory using shipping rules. Shipping rules allow you to create groups of inventory based on weight, size, and category, as well as many other criteria. For more information about shipping rules, see Amazon Shipping Rules.

Shipping rules require a shipping template. A shipping template will need to be assigned to your existing shipping rules after you’ve opted in to Ship by Region on Amazon.

Monsoon will periodically check with Amazon to see if you’ve opted in to Ship by Region. It may take some time between when you opt in and when Monsoon Marketplace checks. Once Marketplace detects that Ship by Region is enabled on your Amazon account, you’ll be able to assign shipping templates to your shipping rules.

To assign or change the shipping template of an existing shipping rule

In Monsoon Marketplace, go to the Settings tab.
Select Amazon > Markets > Amazon (US, CA, UK, DE, ES, FR, IT)> Shipping rules.
Click (Edit...) next to the shipping rule that you want to assign or change the shipping template.
Select the shipping template.
Click OK.
Click OK again.

To create a new shipping rule and assign a shipping template to it

In Monsoon Marketplace, go to the Settings tab.
Select Amazon > Markets > Amazon (US, CA, UK, DE, ES, FR, IT) > Shipping rules.
Click (Add...)
Select the criteria to create an inventory group for the shipping rule.
Select the shipping template.
Click OK.
Click OK again.
