Shipping rules for AbeBooks are configured via your AbeBooks bookseller account. You may configure your shipping rates however you like using AbeBooks’ shipping matrix tool. (For instructions, see the AbeBooks website.)
However, Monsoon Marketplace does not have access to this online information when listing items or downloading orders. All uploaded inventory is subject to your settings on the AbeBooks shipping matrix.
When orders are passed to Monsoon Marketplace, the shipping speed for that order (i.e., a range of days) is available, but not the corresponding ship method. Monsoon Marketplace includes a tool that will help you to accommodate this aspect of the AbeBooks market.
To allow Monsoon Marketplace to identify domestic expedited orders, you should enter the same Domestic Priority shipping speed that you currently have configured on your AbeBooks bookseller account into Monsoon Marketplace. Orders that match this shipping speed will be flagged in Monsoon Marketplace as Expedited. If your settings on your AbeBooks account do not match your settings in Monsoon Marketplace, your domestic Expedited orders will not be flagged for special handling.
It is not possible to restrict shipping internationally on AbeBooks. Orders from any international destination may be received and will need to be processed. Failure to process International orders received from AbeBooks.com will negatively impact your fulfillment rates.
If you choose to offer international expedited (International, Priority) shipping via your AbeBooks bookseller account settings, the appropriate charges will be collected from your customers for these orders. However, Monsoon Marketplace cannot flag these orders separately from your other international orders.
Expedited International orders will not sort by ship method in your packing slip sort order — they will be flagged Standard International shipping. If you choose to give Expedited International shipping special handling, you must:
You should set all AbeBooks International shipping speeds and costs to the same value in order to avoid confusion.
AbeBooks has published standards for the contents of listings posted to their site. For the current policy, see the AbeBooks website.
Monsoon Marketplace will attempt to keep your listings from violating this policy. For example, if a listing includes words that might cause a listing to be removed, it will list the item after deleting the potentially offending words.
Whenever a listing is edited, Monsoon Marketplace will display a message in the Event Viewer.
